As women, we often wear many hats such as mom, daughter, wife, caretaker, etc. With that, we find ourselves doing so much for others that we overlook ourselves and our self-care. Dealing with so many different issues at one time can become a burden, especially when you don't have someone else to talk to. Rather than talking to a therapist, you can share stories with other women going through similar issues. Let's support one another by uplifting each other and letting them know they aren't alone in this battle. Maua Women Empowerment is just that. We are here to listen and share similar stories while uplifting other women. Let's pave the way for a future in which women's voices are heard. Let's rise together. Learn more at www.kishakares.com

Throughout my career as a social worker, I have met many children who struggle to express themselves, often held back by a lack of self-confidence. Affinity Queens empowers youth by teaching essential life and job readiness skills while fostering the ability to engage in meaningful conversations. We focus on building their self-assurance, enabling them to start conversations comfortably and confidently.
Too often, children succumb to peer pressure when they don't believe in themselves. Let Kisha Kares inspire your child to boost their self-esteem and self-confidence, guiding them to become strong leaders. Together, we can unlock their true potential!

As we approach April, which is Child Abuse Awareness Month, I want to address some critical issues that cannot be ignored. As a social worker, I frequently hear complaints about the behavior of children today—claims that they are disrespectful, lazy, and hard-headed. Let me be clear: the fault largely lies with parents.
It is the responsibility of parents to instill the right values and behaviors in their children. Children thrive on structure and guidance, and if your home lacks these essential elements, you are doing a disservice to your family. The children are not the problem; it’s the parenting that needs to be reevaluated.
Stop relying on schools to raise your children. As parents, you must teach respect, proper etiquette, and vital life skills so your children know how to navigate the world outside your home. It’s unacceptable to play the role of a friend when you haven’t established control as a parent. I see this all too often, and it’s deeply troubling.
Hold yourself accountable as a parent, so you can effectively hold your children accountable as well. Your influence is crucial in shaping their future, and it’s time to take that responsibility seriously.

We are excited to announce the opening of the Affinity Queens Virtual Teen Development Program! Our first class begins on February 15 and will run for 12 weeks. As this is our inaugural class, we are offering the program for free. We are seeking 15-20 middle school girls to participate.
Our virtual meeting sessions empower teen girls to forge meaningful social connections in a safe online environment. We aim to transform the common concerns parents have about internet-based social platforms into valuable opportunities for growth.
Each week, our girls will gather from 10 AM to 12 PM, engaging in activities that foster vital life skills such as leadership, time management, etiquette, and self-confidence. Additionally, they will come together in person for two impactful community service projects. To promote positive interaction, students will have access to the Affinity Queens group chat, where they can share uplifting stories and provide support to one another.
We believe that technology and social platforms can be powerful allies rather than negative influences. Our mission is to equip our girls with the knowledge and skills to utilize these tools to build strong character and develop positive behavioral habits for a brighter future.
