Welcome to the Charlotte Fire Department Class 137!!
It starts today.
Recruit Class 137 walked through the doors this morning and officially began their careers with Charlotte Fire. No gear. No apparatus. Just a group of men and women ready to be pushed, challenged, and shaped into Charlotte firefighters.
The next several months will test them physically and mentally. Early mornings. Long days. High expectations. Every step designed to prepare them for the moment someone in our community needs them most.
This is the first step toward the firehouse. The first step toward the streets.
Day one for Recruit Class 137 is underway.

Yeah Buddy!!! Great Job Team!!!
Charlotte Fire has once again earned international reaccreditation.
Today at the Center for Public Safety Excellence Conference in Orlando, Charlotte Fire received reaccreditation from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International for the sixth consecutive time, reaffirming the department’s commitment to excellence, accountability, and service to our community.
Charlotte Fire is among 334 fire departments worldwide that currently hold this accreditation. Nationwide, only about 14 percent of the U.S. population is protected by an accredited fire department, and an even smaller percentage is served by departments that are both internationally accredited and maintain an ISO Class 1 rating like Charlotte Fire.
This recognition reflects the dedication and professionalism of the men and women of Charlotte Fire who serve our city every day.
