🏈✨This past weekend, our team attended the 3rd Annual Bryce Young Free Youth Football Camp at the Harris YMCA, an inspiring opportunity to see Charlotte’s youth learn, grow, and thrive.

We were proud to be part of vendor valley, where community providers and residents came together to share resources and connect with families across Charlotte.

Children of former Crittenton clients participated in the camp, building confidence, developing new skills, and having fun along the way.

Thank you to Bryce Young and the Young9Foundation for investing in our youth and raising awareness about the importance of mental health. Together, we’re building a stronger, healthier community. 💚

🌱🌼 Our garden season is officially growing at Crittenton!

Clients recently painted our raised flower beds to get everything ready for this year’s gardens, and we’re excited to share that sprouts have already begun to appear! 🌿
We’re also grateful for our wonderful “Gardening with Grandma” volunteers, who join us two Saturdays each month to help nurture the garden and create meaningful connections along the way.

A special thank you to staff member Alina, whose dedication and care help ensure our garden thrives year after year. 🌻

🌟 We were honored to welcome representatives from Justice + Joy National Collaborative during their visit to Charlotte.

It was a meaningful opportunity to share the work happening at Crittenton and engage in conversations centered on equity, advocacy, and healing. Hearing from the young people engaged with their Defending Democracy project was inspiring and galvanizing-a good reminder that our direct services work relies on a larger policy framework to support our residents.

We are grateful for the chance to connect with leaders and changemakers who are advancing justice and joy in communities across the country. Thank you for spending time with us and learning more about our mission and impact here in Charlotte.

🌸 A big thank you to Living Your Bliss by Robin Berning for returning to Crittenton to lead another wonderful wellness workshop for our clients!

After previously hosting a journaling workshop, Robin came back to guide clients in creating their own fragrance sprays and rollerballs using essential oils. 🌿 Clients learned about different oils and how they can help support wellness needs such as headaches, anxiety, muscle pain, relaxation, and stress relief.

The workshop gave clients an opportunity to express creativity, learn self-care techniques, and create personalized blends.

We are so grateful for community partners like Robin who continue to pour into and support our clients in meaningful ways. Thank you for sharing your time, talents, and positive energy with us!

Support a safe, structured, trauma-informed environment for residents. Responsibilities include ensuring client safety, administering medications, documenting shift activities, and assisting with daily program support.

👋 Welcome, Tamura Alston!

We’re excited to welcome Tamura as our new full-time Residential Specialist in the Sarah’s House Program. Previously serving as a part-time, as-needed staff member, Tamura recently transitioned into this full-time role.

Sarah’s House is a safe and supportive residential program for young mothers (ages 14–20) and their babies in foster care, helping them build strong parenting and life skills in a nurturing environment.

🎓 Big congratulations to our very own Anna Brown on earning her Master’s in Social Work from Winthrop University!

Anna’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving others continue to make a meaningful impact at Crittenton every day. We are so proud of this incredible accomplishment and excited to see all the ways she will continue to grow and inspire those around her.
