A Child’s Place (ACP) became a program of Thompson as a result of a merger in February 2020.
ACP is a specialized, intensive case management service for families and children experiencing homelessness.

Recently, NBA player Seth Curry, shooting guard for the 76ers and Charlotte native, visited our Matthews campus to learn more about our A Child's Place program. Introducing another of Thompson's 'Top Tier Talent' - Makenzie started as a Family Support Partner, left Thompson in 2017 to pursue her Master of Social Work degree, then came back in April of 2019 as a Facilitator with Wraparound, and has since been promoted to the Coach/Supervisor of a brand-new Wrap team!
