With it being Administrative Professionals Day, we would like to graciously honor our very own Mrs. JoAnn Davidson 💐
JoAnn brings so much more to our work family than what typically comes to mind for this role. She is truly the backbone of our agency—managing and tracking contracts, reconciling accounts, and supporting not just one, but five departments. She also keeps detailed meeting minutes across multiple levels, helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes.
Beyond all of that, JoAnn always has a smile on her face and is ready to help wherever she’s needed.
JoAnn, ECOM would like to publicly recognize you and say: we appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for everything you do! 💙

To the unsung heroes of Iredell County ECOM—
Those who sit behind the headset, answering call after call, often never knowing the outcome.
Unless you’ve been in those chairs—hearing the urgency, the fear, the worst moments in people’s lives—you can’t truly understand the weight of what they carry.
We encourage anyone who’s curious to submit a tour request and experience a “Day in the Life” of a telecommunicator. It’s far from what Hollywood portrays—it’s real, it’s intense, and it’s essential.
Happy NPSTW 2026, ECOM! 💛📞

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28 until further notice.
Under North Carolina law, the ban prohibits all open burning in the affected counties, regardless of whether a permit was previously issued. The issuance of any new permits has also been suspended until the ban is lifted. Anyone violating the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. Any person responsible for setting a fire may be liable for any expenses related to extinguishing the fire.
The burn ban does not apply to fires started within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling. The local fire marshal has authority to issue a burn ban within those 100 feet.
