CCVFD is a Volunteer Fire / Rescue Department in North Carolina Cooks Community Volunteer Fire/Rescue has served the Shuffletown area since the 1953.

As Charlotte has expanded throughout Mecklenburg County we have been fortunate to still be able to serve our community in conjunction with Charlotte Fire Department. Our primary response area extends from the Catawba River on HWY 27 and along Mt. Holly-Huntersville Rd. when going East-to-West. North-to-South we serve Mountain Island Lake, South on HWY 16 and down Pleasant Grove Rd. CCVFD's members

It is with a heavy heart that we bring the news of the passing of Wyatt Gordon, grandson of NCSFA & NCAFC Past President Kevin Gordon and his wife Sherry, and son of Zach and Anne Marie Gordon.

Wyatt, age 2, passed away the morning of July 7, 2024.

The Gordon family is immensely thankful for the outpouring of support and continued prayers from everyone during this difficult time.

As the family continues to grieve this profound loss, please continue to keep them in your prayers.

Today around 1pm Cooks Engine 1 was dispatched to a vehicle fire with a propane explosion in Cooks first due. On arrival the vehicle fire had spread to the attic of the home. Crews from Cooks, Charlotte, Long Creek and Mt Holly worked to bring this incident under control.

Cook's Community VFD as well as the Long Creek FD worked a multi-vehicle MVA on 485 earlier this afternoon. Cooks Engine 1’s Officer assumed command while the crew provided patient care and checked for any pinned in patients. Long Creek Fire Department was assigned to assist with patient care upon their arrival.

Today at 17:28hrs Cooks Marine 1 was dispatched to assist Gaston County with a water rescue on Mt Island lake. Within minutes Cooks Marine 1 was en-route and made contact with 2 patients. Cooks Marine 1 provided medical care and transported both patients to land. Patient care was turned over to GEMS Ambulance service.
