We are back on track for timing

Santa is on his way, but is running about 10 minutes behind.

Santa is coming!!!!!! 🎄🎄🎅😃 The yearly Santa run will take place this Wednesday the 24th, Christmas Eve. Santa will leave Firehouse 2 at 5:30 PM and begin the 2.5 hour drive through the community. The times are subject to change slightly but should be close, as long as emergency calls in the area don't require Santa's help. We look forward to seeing everyone soon. Check this page for any updates before, and during the event.

We hope everyone had a happy Halloween 🎃. And now as firehouse 2 starts to prepare for Santa's arrival on December 24th, we ask that if you have any left over candy, please drop it off at Firehouse 2. 1817 South Blvd. We will use this for Santa's deliveries. You can stop by any time. Your best bet is to park at the dunkin donuts and walk over to see us. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

The time for Santa is right around the corner. Tomorrow night at 530 pm, Santa will begin driving the route around our area. Here is the link to the map and approximate times we will be using.

The route takes 3 hours and is performed by our very firefighters, all of which are volunteering their time for this event. We hope to see everyone tomorrow.

It has been an eventful few months for Firehouse 2. As most of you know the firehouse is undergoing a renovation to increase the size of the bathroom/locker room facilities, as well as upgrade our ADA compliance for all our visitors. While that renovation is still ongoing, we have some other news to tell. Firehouse 2 was selected to have the first Tractor-Drawn-Aerial (TDA) placed in service in Charlotte since 1992. There is a brand new truck on order and it should be arriving in the next month or two. However, the Fire Department has expedited this process by up-fitting a training TDA for front line service. This is only a temporary fix to help facilitate the ever increasing traffic and tight streets until the new truck arrives. Starting yesterday you might catch a glimpse of this new truck rolling around the Southend. This type or ladder truck has the ability to bend in the middle allowing the ladder truck to access very hard to reach places. It requires the use of two drivers, one in the front, as well as one at the back of the vehicle. This creates some unusual situations you may see driving down the road. At times, you may find the front of the truck in one lane, and the trailer in another. We promise, everything is ok, this is a tactic used to allow the truck to benefit from its increased maneuverability. Feel free to drop us questions if you have them, or send us your pictures when you see the new truck!

6. Make a left on Iverson wy and another left on Ideal wy at 5:40
7.Left on McDonald at 5:45

11. Left on Charlotte Dr. 6:05

Please remember that the firetruck carrying Santa is still an active emergency vehicle. If an emergency call comes in, we will be delayed from the times above.

Also, please refrain from calling the firehouse if the fire truck is not at one of the locations on time. We promise that we will make the run if at all possible. The only reason we will cancel is if a major emergency breaks out.

It's that time of year again. Firehouse #2 is getting Santa's sleigh put together and ready for this year's Christmas eve route. As in previous years, please feel free to drop off any extra Halloween candy that's left over from this year. We will save it and hand it out Christmas Eve. Thanks to the great community we work in for always helping us with this great event.
