This past Saturday I was extremely lucky to be able to see THE Nia Imani Franklin…AKA Miss America 2019 perform with the Winston-Salem Symphony. She has been such a HUGE inspiration to me and this was truly a magical night.

🌺The 77th Annual NC Azalea Festival🌺
This weekend has been nothing short of spectacular as I celebrated Azalea Festival in Wilmington, NC. Being in my FIRST ever parade with all of the other beautiful queens will forever be a heartfelt memory.

March is Women’s History Month! This month we need to bring attention to the trailblazers of today as we pay tribute to those of the past.
The "Go Red For Women" campaign by the American Heart Association has significantly increased public awareness of women's heart disease and stroke. Cardiovascular research has historically concentrated on men, which has led to a lack of knowledge and approaches for women's heart health.
American Heart Association - Healthy for Good has chosen our very own Miss NC’s Teen (Miss North Carolina's Teen), Annika Schneider to represent as their Teen of Impact! Along with other titleholders I have joined her team to help raise funds towards cardiovascular research for women.
100% of the funds donated will aid in our goal to offer hope for new research and potential treatment options.
“Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”

February is the celebration of Black History Month. As a young black woman who has been dancing for 16 years I would like to take the time this morning to highlight the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater!
Founded by the brilliant choreographer Alvin Ailey in 1958, the company made a name for itself early on with creative shows celebrating diversity in dancers while highlighting the African-American experience. Ailey's choreography, flawlessly merged African rhythms with aspects of modern and jazz dance. This captivated audiences all over the world.
In addition to its creative accomplishments, the company advocated for equality in the arts and challenged racial barriers as an opportunity for social change. The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's legacy serves as a testament to the power of dance as a worldwide language of emotional expression while continuing to inspire and empower both dancers and audiences today.

Starting off my week by reminiscing about my FIRST TIME as a visiting queen. Miss Ballantyne/Lake Norman/Mount Holly just blessed us with 6 more titleholders!! Give these beautiful young ladies a round of applause for their phenomenal accomplishment… the Class of 24’ just got bigger!
I also had an AMAZING time meeting all the other visiting queens and they are an absolute BLAST to be around
