The Derita Engine Company would like to congratulate A-Shift Firefighter Jesus Padilla Jr. for completing all the necessary tasks (including his station project, a new sign for our new weightroom) and earning his 22 helmet shield! Sam, a fourth-generation firefighter, has been with the Charlotte Fire Department since June of 2014, and served the Derita community for just shy of 9 years. Congratulations Captain Hunter! **WORKING FIRE** Last night, E22 was dispatched to a structure fire on Dalecrest Dr. E7 arrived on scene with smoke and flames showing from a single story house. Delayed due to responding from a brush fire, E22 arrived on scene second, pulled the second attack line, and assisted with establishing a water supply. Companies on the box: E22, E7, E18, E27, L45, TW18, R11, Batt 9, & Batt 2.
