A large hickory tree located on city-owned property near the Erickson Road entrance of the Oakhurst/Amity Gardens Multiuse Path has died and will need to be removed. Two smaller trees nearby will be pruned. The city and contractor will be working in the area over the next few weeks. No property will be disturbed, and no structures will need to be entered.

This swinging bench, created by artist Matthew Geller, will be the focal point of a parklet on the 7th St. to 10th St. segment of the Cross Charlotte Trail, currently under construction and expected to open this fall.
