We reached an amazing milestone while volunteering on the streets of Uptown Charlotte today! Our one thousandth bag was provided to one of our homeless friends. This wouldn't be possible without all of the wonderful people who join us every other Sunday to help those in need. We are truly blessed to help people in the homeless community. Thank you to all of our volunteers for all you do. We admire your dedication, hard work, and compassion.

What a beautiful day to hit the streets and pass out food and supplies to our homeless friends. We had a great group of volunteers, some amazing conversations, and received a monetary donation from a kind individual while we were uptown. As always, thank you to everyone who continues to make helping the homeless possible.

We met some incredible people during today’s meetup. On top of handing out the usual goodie bags full of food we also had multiple long conversations.
Everyone wanted to talk and some opened up about how the ended up in their current situation. It was a good reminder that to some people, the conversation means more than the food.
Never could I anticipated learning new things about Uber, the library and archery.
It’s a good reminder to never judge a book buy its cover!

Our meetups have consistently shown us that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a profound impact. Regardless of the size of our group, we always seem to find ways to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us. We have had a large group snd a small group recently, both having special moments with our friends Uptown.
We were able to provide a tent to someone who had been sleeping under a bridge. His eyes lit up and he expressed how grateful he was. We are also able to supply him with a full goodie, bag of food .
Today's meetup a gentlemen started singing 'Lean on Me' and we all sung together. It was an awesome moment that made everybody smile.
We never know when a special moment is gonna happen!

It was a hot day in uptown today! The ice pops were a giant hit. We were able to provide around 65 goodie back packs full of food, snacks? clothes and toiletries.
We saw one of our old friends who was able to give us and update on one of the ladies we have known for over a year but haven’t seen in months. She went to California so we hope she is doing well!
Someone called ghost busters (they answered the call ) and a few volunteered to have the ice water poured on them from the coolers! A hot but fun afternoon giving back and goofing off!

Today, while volunteering during the 14th year anniversary of hit the streets (12 of which have been organized through DMP), we were welcomed by a new volunteer named Melissa. We asked her how she found our group & she said she asked Jesus how she could help. He led her to us & together we helped the less fortunate. Over the years, we’ve met a lot of homeless people. They all have stories, hopes, dreams, and feelings — Just like you and me. Most lack a support system and need someone to talk to, someone who listens and cares. While we haven’t been able to end homelessness, we’ve been able to provide food, drinks, supplies, clothing, hope, encouragement, and love. And sometimes, that’s enough to make them smile and turn one of their bad days into a better day. We're tremendously proud of all the volunteers who have joined this mission and continue to show up, give their time, and offer support, and of our leader, Mike Spann, for organizing the meetups and keeping the outreach group going. We're beyond grateful to everyone who has helped along the way. We wouldn’t have made it to year 14 without you. ❤️

It’s getting hot around Charlotte this week so cold gatorade and waters were popular! Our volunteers handed out ham and cheese sandwiches, hotdogs, egg salad, sandwiches and of course all the snack! We are in need of socks and mens underwear if anyone is interested in donating!
