We've always believed Charlotte was clean, but now we have the research to back it up! 🚮
When it comes to litter, the Queen City is 38x cleaner than the national average. Learn more about the citywide effort to reduce and prevent litter at cltgov.me/litterclt. Let's work together to get our litter numbers even lower!

The City of Charlotte is proud to recognize Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with this new crown. Let's break down what you'll find inside...
The Dragon symbolizes strength, wisdom, and protection—a powerful icon in East Asian cultures, especially Chinese mythology.
Cherry Blossoms and Plumeria represent transience, peace, and the botanical heritage of both East Asia and the Pacific Islands.
The Pagoda stands at the center, reflecting spiritual depth and architecture from across Asian regions.
Mountains and Waves echo migration, endurance, and nature’s sacred place in AAPI stories.
The Tea Cup with Rising Steam invites connection, tradition, and ceremony.
The Lotus and Koi Fish in the base evoke themes of transformation, resilience, and perseverance.
The Surfboard, nestled among tropical florals on the right, is a quiet tribute to Pacific Islander culture, where surfing originated not just as a sport, but as a sacred practice rooted in respect for the ocean.
The Lantern floating above the crown shines as a symbol of celebration, guidance, and cultural light.
The crown was designed by Charlotte Communication & Marketing’s Creative Services Manager, Nick Stavros. We hope that everyone will join us in celebrating our community this May!
