Recent rains are helping improve drought conditions in our region, but we still have a way to go. 🌧️

Our water supply comes from the Catawba River and Mountain Island Lake, where healthy water levels are essential for our community’s future. While things are trending in the right direction, conservation remains important.

Small everyday actions like shorter showers, fixing leaks, and watering wisely still make a real difference. Thanks for doing your part.

We are in a historic drought with conditions last seen in 2007. Recovery will take sustained rainfall over weeks, possibly months. One or two rain events won’t be enough.

Mandatory water conservation restrictions take effect Friday, May 15. We are making adjustments to ensure reliable service for all customers and appreciate your commitment to making every drop count!

Drinking Water Week was one for the books! From dropping off reading and coloring books at Little Free Libraries across the city, local reading events with our special guest, Tappy, to keeping our friends at hydrated, and rolling up our sleeves for a stream cleanup with , it was a great week of connecting with our community! 💧

As we move into drought stage 2 conditions, moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Every drop counts, and so does every connection we make with the people we serve. 💙

Let’s keep protecting and celebrating the water we share.
