Challenge accepted. Students and staff at Jonathan Elementary School - Chaska, Minnesota reached their Read-a-Thon goal earlier this month. The reward? Principal Pete Morse got in the dunk tank. He dropped into the water a total of 18 times. What a great sport! Way to go Jaguars!

Schools across the district, state and nation celebrated National Unity Day on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in recognition of National Bullying Prevention Month this October. This campaign raises awareness of the impact of bullying and unites us in taking steps to prevent it.

It's National School Bus Safety Week 🚌🚌 a time to reinforce one shared priority: keeping students safe on and around the school bus.

Here are some helpful reminders when in and around school buses:
❌ It is illegal to pass a school bus while the stop-arm is extended and the red lights are flashing. Children wait at least several feet away from a bus and often cross the street when they’re boarding or getting off the bus.
🟡 Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. You should slow down and prepare to stop your vehicle.
🔴 Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate the bus has stopped and children are getting on or off. You must stop your car and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop-arm is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving, before you can start driving again.

🎥Screenagers: Secondary families, please join us to learn more about current issues impacting today's youth. Come watch a 60-minute film, Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age, and participate in a Q& A with school and community staff. A delicious meal catered by ECCS Nutrition Services will be provided. There will also be drawings for great prizes!
