The Salvation Army of Chattanooga The Salvation Army is committed to "doing the most good" for the most people in the most need.

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.

We are looking for volunteers to help with The Salvation Army Chattanooga’s Community Trunk-or-Treat on Tuesday, October 27, from 6:00–8:00 p.m.!! 🎃

Volunteers can host a decorated trunk, lead an activity, share community resources, or donate candy, treats, and supplies. 🍬

How to Sign Up:

Step 1: Register as a Volunteer Use the link below to create an account, enter your information, and complete the required General Liability Release and Photo Release forms.

🎄 A HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers!

As we wrapped up our Angel Tree registration process, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank everyone who helped make it possible!

From our Women’s Auxiliary, erhsjrotc East Ridge JROTC and NHS students to UTC Social Services students and volunteers from across our community, we are so grateful for every person who gave their time, energy, and heart to serve local families. ❤️

Together, we registered over 200 families for our Angel Tree program, and we couldn’t have done it without you! 🎁

Our officers and staff are already gearing up for the Christmas season and look forward to bringing Christmas to Chattanooga!

Sometimes all it takes is a check-in with a friend or family member to help them in a domestic violence situation. There are many ways to be supportive of survivors and victims of intimate partner violence. Some of these don’t involve a payment. Here are 5 ways that you can be the person that someone needs.

🌸 And with that, our final 12 Flowers of Hope arrangements of the year have been delivered! 💐

Our wonderful Women’s Auxiliary and volunteers brought these beautiful bouquets to the BOP/RRC, a program with which the Salvation Army Chattanooga partners with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to help individuals transition from incarceration back into the community through housing, employment assistance, counseling, and support.

Along the way home, they even shared a little extra kindness with a woman working at the Arby’s drive-through window! ❤️

That wraps up Flowers of Hope for 2026! They’ll be back in January with more flowers, more smiles, and more opportunities to spread hope and kindness. 🌷

Mental and spiritual health issues often have real physical needs. This Mental Health Awareness Day, while we may offer counseling or pastoral care, we also know it’s hard to focus on inner healing if those physical needs aren’t met.

William Booth’s “Soup, Soap, and Salvation” was a way to meet those physical, mental, and spiritual needs that The Salvation Army’s mission is based upon.
