MISSING PERSON COLD CASE
Carmella Maria Gutierrez hasn't been seen or heard from since June 1990. Her family says she may have traveled to Riverdale, GA around that time and stayed at the Hometown Inn on Hwy 85.
Carmella Gutierrez would be 83-years-old today. At the time of her disappearance she was described as 5'4" with hazel eyes and red/auburn hair. She has a scar on her right knee from a motorcycle accident. If you have any information about Carmella Gutierrez's whereabouts, call (423) 643-7691.

When a child is inside an unattended vehicle, their temperature can rise quickly and the situation can become dangerous.
No parent or caregiver thinks this can happen to them, but dozens of children each year are either left behind in a vehicle or become trapped inside.

After nearly 50 years of collective service, Inv McGhee and Sgt Penney have retired from CPD. Their send off included cake, hugs, and, of course, the always emotional last call. We wish them the best as they start the next chapters in their lives.

Chattanooga Police Arrest Homicide Suspect - South Germantown Road
The Chattanooga Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide of a 16-year-old and the non-fatal shooting of an 18-year-old that occurred on March 22, 2026 on South Germantown Road.
CPD's Homicide Unit charged 21-year-old Victor Powell Jr. (DOB 04/15/2005) with Criminal Homicide, Attempted Murder, Tampering with Evidence, and Felony Reckless Endangerment. Powell is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
This information is preliminary and is subject to change as the investigation continues. Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call 423-698-2525.

CPD Arrests Suspect in Shooting – 4600 Block of Hwy 58
The Chattanooga Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with the homicide of a 27-year-old that occurred on May 3, 2026 in the 4600 block of Highway 58.
CPD's Homicide Unit charged 19-year-old Nicalos Moore (DOB 09/18/2006) with First Degree Murder and two counts of Tampering with Evidence. Moore is in custody at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
