La Furia Roja is almost here, Chattanooga! The Spanish National Team will arrive tomorrow, June 5 for their stay during the FIFA World Cup, and you're invited to join us in welcoming them.

The public can await the team's arrival outside of the Embassy Suites on Broad Street at 5 p.m. Here are some quick reminders to ensure public safety:

•This is standing-room only, barricaded areas will be set up (between 3rd + 4th street)
•No entrance is permitted into the hotel during the team's stay
•The arrival time is fluid, so come early!
•Paid street parking and CARTA's garages will be your best bet
•No. 1 rule: Show your fellow Chattanoogans and the Spanish team respect, disorderly conduct will not be tolerated — this will be a highly secure area, so please follow all protocols as they are told to you.

Chattanooga is about to be booming with celebrations for America's 250th anniversary!

From special programming put together by our Office of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy to the beloved Pops on the River — there's plenty of ways to honor over two centuries of patriotism and our history. We're even partnering with Hamilton County to send off Independence Day with the largest drone and pyrotechnics show in local history! Stay tuned as we roll our more details for these events.

Since 2021, the Kelly Administration has sought to activate the desolate Airport Inn and turn it into an essential part of our strategy to build off-ramps from homelessness. Now, real progress is being made!

Thanks to a generous $2.3 million seed donation from the Maclellan Foundation, renovations will soon begin — creating Provident Place. This facility will be a secure and professionally operated shelter designed to help families with children move from crisis to stability, doubling the number of available beds for families experiencing homelessness in Chattanooga. We couldn't have made this a reality without the tremendous work and collaboration of the foundation, community partners, and public and private entities. https://chattanooga.gov/stay-informed/latest-news/city-chattanooga-donate-airport-inn-grateful-gobbler-move-forward

•Frazier Ave. by local artist Lexi D’Ambrosio | Ayeyoty | 1-3 pm

A fourth mural by local artist Nathan Brown will be installed later this summer in Renaissance Park.
