π¦ Community Health Update: Wastewater surveillance data for Spring 2026 is showing elevated levels of Norovirus and Rotavirus in Chattanooga.
These viruses can cause stomach illness symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramping, low-grade fever, and body aches. While many adults experience mild symptoms, older adults, young children, and immunocompromised individuals may face more severe illness.
π§Ό Protect yourself and your family by:
π§ Staying hydrated
π Washing hands thoroughly and often
π₯£ Eating bland foods while recovering
π« Avoiding dairy, alcohol, caffeine, and high-fat foods during illness
β³ Symptoms typically last 24β72 hours. If symptoms persist or worsen, contact your medical provider.
Together, we can help stop the spread and keep our community healthy. π
