Attend this FREE Medicare seminar led by a trained SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) counselor. Learn about important changes affecting everyone with Medicare and sign up for an individual counseling session to review your current plan and make any necessary changes for next year.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO MEDICARE PART D
Starting January 2027, many drug plans will charge a monthly fee. There will be no $0-premium standalone drug plans. You must call your plan and tell them how you want to pay. WARNING: If you do not set up a payment, your drug plan may be cancelled. Call your plan now. Do not wait.

If you get full Extra Help, you may still pay $0 each month. But this depends on your plan.

Hamilton County EMS is proud to offer First on the Scene, a FREE community training course designed to give you the skills and confidence to help during a medical emergency until first responders arrive.

👥 Ages 13 and up

Participants will learn lifesaving skills including Hands-Only CPR and AED use, administering Naloxone and Epinephrine, controlling life-threatening bleeding, responding to penetrating chest trauma, moving patients to safety, and positioning injured patients.

🎓 A certificate will be provided upon completion.

October is Residents’ Rights Month. The Older Americans Act (OAA) authorizes the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, which helps protect the rights of people living in long-term care settings.

Residents in long-term care facilities are guaranteed rights such as freedom from abuse, the right to self-determination, and the right to make complaints about their facility.

If you feel the rights of someone in a long-term care facility are being infringed upon, contact your local ombudsman to get help to address it. Call (423) 591-7719 to reach the Southeast TN Ombudsman.

We are proud to celebrate the completion of 10 weeks of Bingocize® classes at the Etowah Senior Center! Over the past 10 weeks, participants showed incredible dedication and commitment by attending classes, staying active, and investing in their health and well-being. We are so proud of each person who took part and helped make this program such a success.

One of the most rewarding parts of the program has been hearing directly from participants about the positive impact Bingocize has had on their lives. Many shared that they feel stronger and more active after completing the class. Participants also reported being more mindful of fall prevention strategies and feeling better equipped to stay safe and independent at home and in their communities.

A special thank you to the staff and participants at the Etowah Senior Center for making these classes such a positive experience. Your enthusiasm and commitment made every session enjoyable and meaningful.

Congratulations to all of the graduates! We are honored to support and offer programs that help older adults stay healthy, active, and engaged, and we look forward to bringing more wellness opportunities to our communities in the future.
