Granny’s Library is feeling extra lucky this week! ☘️
We stocked the shelves with green books, added St. Pat’s bubbles for the kiddos, and wish all the grown-ups a little luck… maybe with a green beer while you read.
Take a book, leave a book, and enjoy the St. Patrick’s week magic! 🌈📚

Visited the library this week and wondering what our house lights mean?
These are our Govee lights! They stay up year-round and are completely customizable. If you visit often, you’ll notice they change frequently!
Today they are green, pink, and blue for Rare Disease Day 💚🩷💙
Did you know 1 in 10 Americans live with a rare disease?
Rare disease warriors are often called “zebras.” In medicine, there’s a saying: “When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras.” But sometimes… it really is a zebra. 🦓
In our house, 2 of our 6 live with Congenital Hyperinsulinism (CHI).
CHI is a rare genetic condition where the body makes too much insulin. Insulin lowers blood sugar — and when there’s too much, blood sugar can drop dangerously low. That means constant monitoring, quick snacks, medications, and always being prepared.
It’s invisible most days.
It’s relentless every day.
But so are we.
✨ Coming soon to the library: a children’s book about a brave little rabbit living with Hyperinsulinism — helping kids understand big diagnoses in gentle, hopeful ways.
Stay tuned — we’ll post when it’s here! 🐰📚
If you or someone you love lives with a rare disease, we’d love to honor them. Comment their disease (or their name, if you’re comfortable), and know we are shining our lights in support of you, too. 🦓💚
Today we shine for strength, awareness, research, and hope.

More blind dates are in the library! Rainy day may call for reading! Please remember to use a large umbrella if visiting the library in the rain to avoid damage to the books or library itself. We also added some valentines craft kits for the kids to make heart cookie magnets!

Adults… don’t think we left you out for Valentine’s Day! 💘
Introducing our new Blind Date with a Book collection! Each bundle is wrapped, tagged with a few clues, and ready for you to take a chance on a new story.
Because of space constraints in our (no pun intended 😉) Little Free Library, these won’t be a full-time offering — at least for now. I put 4 out this morning and will be adding more throughout the weekend.
I’ll also be placing some on the porch pew and will post a note when they’re out!
Tell me your favorite genre in the comments so I know what to make next!

It’s a beautiful snow day today! ❄️ We moved some of our snow titles to be featured at the front ⛄️ The boys were too busy sledding to pause for a pic but the girls did it naturally 💕 Be safe and stay warm!

Happy “snow” day! ❄️
Snowy titles have been added to the library.
Please use caution when visiting due to ice.
We’ve also stocked a few snow-themed bookmarks.
Have a safe and happy weekend!

Today we’re stocking Granny’s Garden Library in honor of Granny’s birthday. She would have been 56 today.
She loved books, cozy days, and the kind of moments you don’t rush through. This library is one small way we keep her love moving through the world. Today we added books by Janet Evanovich, stories about a mother or grandmother’s love, trains, and RBG (who she swore she met once). We also restocked seeds to plant in her memory and added keychains in her honor.
With my kids, she loved to play pat-a-cake any chance she got—so there’s a book for that too.
If you take a book today, know it’s shared with a lot of love.
Happy birthday, Granny 🤍
