Division 16 held our annual Change of Watch on Sunday afternoon. Thanks to the outgoing officers and congratulations to the new officers!
This weekend Auxiliarists from Div 16 along with active duty and retired Coast Guard members, participated once again in the Coast Guard Flags Across America event. This project, held the Saturday before Veterans Day, is centered around Arlington National Cemetery and is the Coast Guard's way of honoring our Coast Guard veterans who have passed.
This year we honored 200 Coast Guard veterans in our Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Two weekends in a row of . . . "rowing"! The ChattaJack 31 mile paddling race on the Tennessee River came first, followed by the nation's second largest rowing regatta, Head of the H***h. Coast Guard Auxiliarists from Div. 16 and Div. 11 were there for all of it. BZ to our boat crews for putting in long hours on the water.

Today our local US Coast Guard Auxiliary, retired CG veterans, and active duty members from the USCG Cutter Ouachita honored our deceased veterans in the Chattanooga National Cemetery by placing a CG Flag at each headstone. This is done each year as part of Coast Guard Flags Across America which started at Arlington years ago.
One of our additions this year that touched us was a 25yr old active duty Coastie who was serving in Maine. Our hearts go out to her family.

Today we bid farewell to a shipmate.
Bob Robbins served his country in Vietnam as a Captain in the USAF. Later he would use his skills as a navigation flight officer to train countless members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary on how to navigate on water.
Fair seas ol' friend, until we meet up again.
Classic old commercial for the U.S. Coast Guard!
The reporter just said, "a boating safety interview somewhere on the water." So down to the creek we met.
