💙 Did you know there are two Little Essentials Pantries in the Chelan Valley, available 24/7?

Many people know about the pantry outside the Chelan Valley Hope office in Chelan, but the Manson Little Essentials Pantry is still growing awareness in the community.

📍 Chelan Valley Hope Office (Chelan) -417 S. Bradley St., Chelan

Both pantries are open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are available to anyone who may need basic essentials, including:

🪥 Toothbrushes & toothpaste
🧴 Shampoo & conditioner
🩸 Feminine hygiene products
🥫 Unexpired non-perishable food
🧻 Other everyday essentials

There are no applications, qualifications, or appointments. If you need something, take what you need.

These pantries are supported by community donations. While Chelan Valley Hope helps stock them when possible, the generosity of local residents, businesses, and organizations helps keep these resources available for everyone.

Today on Indigenous Peoples Day, Chelan Valley Hope honors and recognizes the original stewards of the land we call home.

Our office and outreach operate on the traditional homelands of the ščəl̕ámxəxʷ (Chelan people, meaning “Deep Water”)and neighboring šnp̓əšqʷáw̓šəxʷ (Wenatchi) peoples, who have sustained deep cultural connections throughout the watersheds of North Central Washington for thousands of years. Today, descendants of these original families carry forward their heritage, language, and sovereignty as members of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation.

Observed on the second Monday of October, Indigenous Peoples Day is an opportunity to honor Native history, respect tribal sovereignty, and celebrate the enduring presence and contributions of Indigenous communities today.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

At Chelan Valley Hope, we believe everyone deserves access to breast cancer screening, regardless of income or location. No one should have to choose between a mammogram and groceries.

Breast cancer doesn’t wait. But neither do the people who help. 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed in their lifetime, but when caught early, the 5-year relative survival rate is over 99%.

En Chelan Valley Hope creemos que todos merecen acceso a exámenes de detección, sin importar sus ingresos o ubicación. Nadie debería tener que elegir entre una mamografía y los alimentos.

We remember the children whose lives were forever changed by the Indian boarding school system, and we acknowledge the lasting impacts that continue to be felt today.

Need help applying for or managing public benefits? The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Mobile Office is bringing services directly to the community today!

The DSHS Mobile Office is a traveling service center staffed by specialists who can assist with:

✅ Food, cash, and medical assistance applications
✅ Case reviews and changes
✅ EBT card requests
✅ Document submissions
✅ Child Care Subsidy Program applications and referrals

Can't make it to a Mobile Office visit? Many services can also be accessed online through Washington Connection: https://www.washingtonconnection.org

The Mobile Office helps connect people with essential services, especially in communities that may not have easy access to a local DSHS office.
