We support, promote, and inform our members and residents about Chelsea happenings and events for a stronger, more productive and cohesive community. It was formed in 1931 to be the voice of the business and professional people of Chelsea. The Chelsea Chamber holds many networking and other events throughout the year for members as well as nonmembers to promote and discuss their businesses. What a paw-some afternoon at Barktoberfest! 🐾🎃

On Saturday, October 10, from 2–6 PM, Chelsea Square was filled with wagging tails, creative costumes and community spirit as we came together for an afternoon of fall fun!

One of the highlights was our dog Halloween costume contest, featuring over 25 adorable pups dressed in their best costumes!

Attendees also had the opportunity to shop and support local vendors, including Koffee Glow, Chelsea Dawgs, Freckled Creations, FunCraft3D, Lovin’ Tenders and Bejeweled, while enjoying the b**r garden brought to us by The Brown Jug.

A special thank you to the City of Chelsea and the Department of Public Works (DPW) team for their partnership and support, along with The Brown Jug, our participating vendors and everyone who helped make this event possible.

And, of course, thank you to everyone who joined us and brought their furry friends!

¡Qué tarde tan perruna y divertida vivimos en Barktoberfest! 🐾🎃

El sábado 10 de octubre, de 2 a 6 PM, Chelsea Square se llenó de perritos moviendo sus colas, disfraces creativos y espíritu comunitario mientras nos reunimos para disfrutar de una tarde llena de diversión otoñal.

Uno de los momentos más destacados fue nuestro concurso de disfraces de Halloween para perros, que contó con la participación de más de 25 adorables perritos luciendo sus mejores disfraces.

Los asistentes también tuvieron la oportunidad de comprar y apoyar a vendedores locales, incluyendo Koffee Glow, Chelsea Dawgs, Freckled Creations, FunCraft3D, Lovin’ Tenders y Bejeweled, mientras disfrutaban de la cervecería al aire libre presentada por The Brown Jug.

Chelsea Police Investigating Fatal Motor Vehicle Incident Involving Two-Year-Old Child

At approximately 9:40 p.m. on October 14, Chelsea Police officers responded to the area of 156 Bellingham Street following a report that a young child had been struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers located a two year old female child suffering from serious injuries. Chelsea Police officers, alongside the Chelsea Fire Department and emergency medical personnel, provided emergency medical aid at the scene.

The child was transported to Cambridge Health Alliance in Everett, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle operator is the boyfriend of the child’s mother. The incident occurred shortly after the mother and child were dropped off in front of their home on Bellingham Street.

The operator was interviewed by Chelsea Police detectives and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, and has since been released.

Based on preliminary witness statements and evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation, this incident appears to be a tragic accident. Investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the event.

Statement from Chief Keith E. Houghton:
“This is a tragic incident involving the death of a very young child. On behalf of the Chelsea Police Department, I extend our deepest condolences to the child’s family and loved ones. Our officers and emergency responders provided immediate assistance at the scene and did everything possible to help save the young child. Our thoughts are with her family during this unimaginable loss, and we ask the community to respect their privacy during this extremely difficult time.”

The Chelsea Police Department will release additional information as appropriate and consistent with the ongoing investigation.

Join the Walnut Street Synagogue on Sunday, October 18, for a special afternoon exploring Chelsea’s transition from “Little Jerusalem” to the multicultural community it is today.

Photographer Arnie Jarmak and writer Joshua Resnek will share historic photographs, stories and insights into the people, neighborhoods and events that have shaped Chelsea.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the historic synagogue, explore its collection of artifacts and connect with the community.
