The scariest thing this Halloween? The hazardous waste hiding in your home! 👻🎃

Luckily, Chelsea's Department of Public Works is here to help you get rid of it safely and for FREE!

Chelsea residents can bring old paint, cleaning products, batteries, propane tanks, light bulbs, and more to our annual Household Hazardous Waste Day, completely free of charge.

The City of Chelsea is seeking artists and artist teams to design and create a bronze statue honoring John Ruiz, Chelsea's own two-time heavyweight boxing champion and the first Latino to win a world heavyweight title!

The statue will be installed at John Ruiz Park, celebrating his historic achievements and lasting connection to our community.

Chelsea is growing, and we're making sure that growth benefits our community!

The City of Chelsea recently welcomed the Builders Coalition, a nonprofit supporting diverse, community-rooted real estate developers and investors across Massachusetts.

During their visit, participants met with City officials, learned about Chelsea’s development priorities, and toured key areas, including downtown Broadway, West Chelsea, and the waterfront.

One highlight was 440 Broadway, a new development featuring 28 affordable homeownership units and a future teen center operated by the Boys & Girls Club.

As Chelsea grows, we're focused on expanding housing opportunities, supporting local businesses, and encouraging development that benefits current and future generations.

By building relationships with developers who understand our community's needs, we're helping create a future where families can stay, businesses can prosper, and Chelsea continues to move forward.

Chelsea is open for business!

Come for the candy. Stay for Hocus Pocus. 🍬🎬🎃

Trunk or Treat isn’t ending when the trick-or-treating does.

After an afternoon of decorated trunks, inflatables, face painting, pumpkins, music, and Halloween fun, grab a spot and stick around for a 6:15 p.m. screening of Hocus Pocus in Chelsea Square!

Plus, Chelsea Police will have a special Halloween activation during the event.

Want to honor someone special at this year's Día de los Mu***os ofrenda?

Bring a framed photo to the ofrenda from Friday, October 30, at 6 p.m. to Sunday, November 1, at 5 p.m. The ofrenda remains on display until Monday night.

Can't make it? Drop off your framed photo at Chelsea Public Library, 569 Broadway, during regular hours by Thursday, October 29, before closing. A collection box will be available; ask the front desk for help.

Only framed photos and LED candles are accepted.

Pick up your photo after the festival on November 1 or during Monday's breakdown. You may also pick it up at the Verónica Robles Cultural Center after 3 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, or leave it for next year.

Whether you're preparing important paperwork or need a signature notarized, the library is here to help.

Before your appointment, keep these reminders in mind:

- Bring a valid photo ID, such as a driver's license, state-issued ID, or passport.
- Documents may be filled out in advance but must remain unsigned until your appointment.
- Let the notary know ahead of time if you need multiple pages notarized.
- Not all documents are eligible for notarization.

Appointments are required and subject to staff availability. Walk-ins may not be accommodated.
