The F we are. Show up and speak out against this.

Last month, the Wichita City Council discussed funding for two robotic dogs for Wichita police. After over an hour of discussion, it was delayed, and is set to be discussed again on Tuesday.

If both are purchased, it would be at a discounted price of roughly $629,000. One dog would be assigned to SWAT and the other to the bomb squad.

From the state of the city event tonight

We attended Lily’s State of the City address tonight and we’d like to address a few things of our own:

👏 We applaud Lily for quoting Sowell and Friedman. We also loved this moment: “if you’re looking to the government to solve your problems, you’re going to be disappointed.” We couldn’t agree more!

🚫 We do not support Lily’s ongoing blind support of WPD and the surveillance state.

🚫 We do not believe that economic development is the role of the government. We’d like to see a dramatic reduction in funding for Visit Wichita and other market manipulators.

Busy week this week - we’ll update after the City Council meeting Tuesday and after the County’s listening session on data centers Thursday.

Kansas Libertarians—please read & share.

This is a straightforward, time-sensitive ask to strengthen Kansas’ voice at the next Libertarian National Convention.

Our national delegate count is based on how many national LP members live in Kansas. National uses OCTOBER 31 as the deadline for delegate distribution. That means every Kansan who joins the national LP by Oct 31 helps increase the number of delegates Kansas gets—giving us a louder, more constructive voice on the floor.

What to do (about 2 minutes)

Go to the national LP join page → bit.ly/LPnationalmembership

Choose “Become a member” — $25

Use your Kansas address so it counts toward our state’s allocation

Please comment “I joined” below

Why this matters

More KS national members → more KS delegates

More delegates → stronger vote for growth-minded, competent leadership that helps states win volunteers, candidates, ballot access, and local issue fights

Your $25 does more than talk—it turns into real representation for Kansas at convention

A note from me

I’ve been a national member since 2001 and am a lifetime member. I’ll be at convention advocating for leadership that helps LPKS grow, recruit candidates, and make practical progress here at home. If you’ve ever said, “We need more than two choices,” this is how we show up—together, on time, and counted.

Quick FAQs

Why Halloween? It’s national’s Oct 31 delegate-allocation deadline. Memberships processed by then count for Kansas.

Do I have to leave LPKS? No. This is in addition to your state support. We’re asking you to add national membership so Kansas’ delegate math improves.

Money’s tight? We understand. If you can’t join now, please recruit one friend who can—and share this post widely.

Is this picking sides? It’s about Kansas having enough delegates to vote for effective, pro-growth leadership—whoever those candidates are when ballots are cast.

Call to action

If you’re in, join today—don’t wait. Then tag one Kansas friend you believe will join before Oct 31. Two minutes now = a bigger Kansas voice all year.

With gratitude,
Rob Hodgkinson
