Morning!
Our park office will be closing early today, at 3pm! If you’re coming in to get a walk up site for this weekend please be sure to use the self pay system at the park entrances! East side is cash only, west side has a cash drop box and a card kiosk!

OK Kids Day 2026 was an absolute BLAST!
Thank you to all the family's that came out this year, we hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed some new things we we're able to include this year!

A huge thank you to all our volunteers! KDWP employees, seasonals and volunteers, Pretty Prairie Fire Department and Pretty Prairie EMS, Cheney High School Art Department, Great Plains Nature Center- Wichita, Flatland Fly Fishers, and Ted and Sally Posch.

Also a huge thank you to all who were able to donate to our event and help offer more for our kiddos to enjoy! Kansas Wildscape, Citizen State Bank in Cheney, Walmart in Goddard, Academy Sports- East Wichita, Scheels, Bass Pro Shops - Wichita, KS, HTeaO-Hutchinson, Exploration Place- Wichita, and The Outpost at Cheney Lake.

And we had some amazing vendors for the kids to enjoy, Mr. Bounce LLC, Houser Hut Shaved Ice, and Tails & Scales!

We appreciate everyone who was able to help with our event in a multitude of ways, and everyone that came out to enjoy the day at Cheney State Park! ☺️

Our 2026 OK Kids Day will be at the NSA on the west shore from 4pm-6pm!
We will have lots of fun things for the kiddos like a bounce house,barrel train, fishing, yard games, skins and skulls, archery, reptiles, face painting, snowcones, s’mores, and hotdogs! We even have a free raffle with some great prizes this year for the kiddos to enter! (Raffle will be announced at 5:45pm and your child must be there to claim their prize if drawn).

This event is FREE and entrance is free for everyone as well!!

We hope to see yall tomorrow evening!!😊🏕️

Reminder our OK Kids Day is THIS Saturday from 4pm-6pm!!! We hope to see you all this Saturday!!!🤩🤩🤩

It’s that time of the year!!!!

Our yearly OK Kids Day Event will be September 26th from 4pm-6pm at the Ninnescah Sailing Association on the West Shore!!

This is a FREE event for all family’s to bring their kiddos out to enjoy an evening of fun in the great outdoors!

We will provide a free hotdog dinner, with chips and water, various outdoor activities for family’s to enjoy, and a free raffle for the kids to win some prizes!

We hope to see everyone come out and have a fun evening at the lake!
