“It’s a good day to be Indigenous!”🪶✨

🍞✨ A delicious way to learn! Our students in Mr. Stroup’s class and Mr. Santoyo’s class learned to make fry bread while celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day!

We are so thankful for our wonderful parents who volunteered to make this possible.

🍞✨ ¡Una forma deliciosa de aprender! Los alumnos de las clases del Sr. Stroup y del Sr. Santoyo aprendieron a preparar fry bread (pan frito) mientras celebraban el Día de los Indígenas.

Estamos muy agradecidos con los maravillosos padres de familia que se ofrecieron como voluntarios para hacer esto posible.

Congrats Topsy!

✨Student Spotlight: Flourishing in 509J ✨

We’re so excited to recognize our first student this school year with our student spotlight program, Flourishing in 509J!

Topsy Holyan is a 3rd grader at Madras Elementary. Here is what her teacher, Ms. Lawson, had to say about her!

“At the beginning of the school year, Topsy showed great leadership by helping classmates feel welcome and included. Topsy quickly followed classroom routines and encouraged others to make good choices. When a classmate needed help, Topsy kindly offered assistance without being asked. She listens carefully, participates positively, and sets a great example for others. Her kindness, responsibility, and positive attitude makes her a wonderful leader in our classroom.”

Topsy loves Madras Elementary! Her favorite part of the day is math time. She loves learning all about multiplication. ❎

She also loves getting to see her friends and meeting new people. Her teacher singled her out for being kind and offering help to any classmates that need help.
This included helping a new student to the school feel welcome this year. 👐🏼

“I enjoy helping other people so that they’re not scared to come to school.”

Way to go, Topsy! You are a true example of how Students Flourish Here. 👍🏼
