EBCI Public Health & Human Services Secretary, Sonya Wachacha, has been selected by Impact Health to represent the EBCI on the NC ROOTS Hub Region 1 Governance Body!

THE GOOD STUFF:
Sonya Wachacha, MHS, RN, secretary of Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) Public Health & Human Services (PHHS), has been selected by Impact Health to represent EBCI on the NC ROOTS Hub Region 1 Governance Body, along with 30 community leaders from across western North Carolina (WNC). This governing body will help ensure that North Carolina Rural Health Transformation Program (NCRHTP) initiatives reflect the priorities, needs, and strengths of the region’s 19 counties and the Qualla Boundary. NCRHTP funding is designed to address longstanding challenges in rural healthcare, including workforce shortages, hospital sustainability, and gaps in access to mental health and primary care services. NC ROOTS Hubs are regional networks that connect medical, behavioral health, and social supports. (Photo courtesy of EBCI Public Health & Human Services)
