A great way to kick off Sycamore Pumpkin Festival weekend!

This morning, I joined State Representative Jeff Keicher at the annual Sycamore Kiwanis Prayer Breakfast.

The Pumpkin Festival is just one of the many wonderful traditions that make Sycamore such a special community. It's always great to see neighbors, local leaders, and volunteers come together to celebrate what make our communities special.

I'm proud to represent Sycamore in the Illinois Senate and grateful to be part of this community.

What a great way to celebrate America's 250th birthday!

Yesterday, I enjoyed attending the Boone County Arts Council's mural dedication ceremony at the Boone County Museum of History.

The beautiful mural was painted by Mike LaScola, a former art teacher and principal in the Belvidere Schools, to commemorate America's 250th anniversary.

It was great visiting with Mike and seeing his incredible work!

Breast cancer isn't partisan, and neither is the fight against it.

Yesterday, I was honored to join my Democratic colleague, State Rep. Dave Vella, as a celebrity waiter at the Hard Rock Cafe in support of breast cancer research.

There may have been a little friendly competition over who could raise the most money, but at the end of the day, we were united in supporting a cause that touches so many families.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and events like this remind us that some causes bring us all together, regardless of political affiliation.

What a wonderful surprise to run into Jenn Kauffman at Sunday's Settlers Days Marengo Parade!

One of the things I value most about attending events throughout the communities I serve is the people I meet along the way.

Back in May, I met Jenn and her family at a pancake breakfast fundraiser supporting Jenn and Mackenzie Mileetta, two women battling breast cancer.

Jenn has been undergoing intensive treatments at MD Anderson in Texas, so it was especially wonderful to see her smiling and looking great! She shared that her treatments are going well and she's staying positive.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To Jenn, Mackenzie, and everyone facing this battle—stay strong, keep the faith, and never lose hope.

What a turnout in Sugar Grove on Saturday!

Cars were lined up for our Community Shred Event, and Senator Dave Syverson was right there helping residents unload boxes and bags of documents for secure shredding!

Events like these are just one of the many services our Senate office provides to residents throughout the 35th District.

I recently toured Deer Path of Huntley, a specialized supportive living community serving adults with physical disabilities, helping residents maintain their independence while receiving the care and assistance they need.

During the visit, I had the opportunity to meet with staff, learn more about the services Deer Path provides, and spend time talking with residents.

One of the most meaningful parts of the visit was hearing directly from residents about how much they appreciate Deer Path and its dedicated staff, while also listening to some of the concerns they shared.

Supporting Those Who Support Our Communities!

Empower Boone Food Pantry continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families throughout Boone County.

I've had the opportunity to visit with Executive Director Brenda Valadez, meet the dedicated volunteers, and see firsthand the important work being done to help neighbors facing food insecurity.

I'm proud to support Empower Boone and the tremendous work they do to serve our community with compassion and dignity.

I'm also excited to celebrate the installation of their new freezer soon! Earlier this year, Empower Boone launched a community fundraising campaign to replace its aging freezer and make much-needed facility improvements. This project is a great example of what can be accomplished when businesses, organizations, and residents come together to meet a community need.

Thank you to Brenda, the volunteers, and everyone who continues to support Empower Boone. Your dedication is helping making Boone County a stronger, more caring place to live.

Hampshire Township Park District definitely knows how to throw a Trunk or Treat! 🎃👻

What a great way to wrap up a busy weekend! Downtown Hampshire was filled with families, creative costumes and lots of smiles as everyone was enjoying a free community event.

Team Syverson went with a Star Wars theme this year.
