FBI Norfolk has officially consolidated with FBI Richmond. For decades, the Norfolk Field Office has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the communities, law enforcement agencies, businesses, schools, military partners, and other organizations of Hampton Roads and eastern Virginia to protect the people we serve.
That commitment is not changing. It is getting stronger.
This consolidation brings the resources, expertise, and capabilities of our two offices together as one team—allowing us to increase investigative resources in Hampton Roads and strengthen our ability to address the criminal and national security threats facing the region.
The FBI will remain firmly present in Hampton Roads. Our agents, analysts, professional staff, and specialized resources will continue working here every day alongside the partners and communities we have served for decades. What changes is our ability to draw upon a larger, more integrated team to support that work.
Over the past 18 months, our partnerships have contributed to extraordinary investigative successes across Hampton Roads. This consolidation gives us an opportunity to build on that momentum—not by reducing our presence or our commitment, but by increasing our investigative capacity and bringing more resources to bear against violent crime, cyber threats, counterintelligence threats, terrorism, and other national security and criminal threats affecting our communities.
To our law enforcement partners and the people of Hampton Roads: we are here, we are invested in this region, and we remain committed to earning your trust every day. Your partnership, confidence, and support are essential to our mission, and together we will continue working to make Hampton Roads and communities throughout Virginia safer.
The mission continues.
The partnerships continue.
Our capabilities grow.
And we remain here to serve Virginia.
