Our Communications, Engagement, and Community Outreach Coordinator Babee Garcia Rodriguez asked our Chief Financial Officer Brian Washington about his most regretful purchase in his personal life.

His response?
A Dodge Caravan.

What's something you might have bought that seemed like a great idea at first, but turned out that it wasn't?

During Staff Appreciation Week last month, SEVTC hosted a drawing where two lucky employees would win two pairs of tickets to see Spamalot. One of our residential supervisors Kenya YoungBlood attended last Tuesday's performance with her husband and had a wonderful time.

We had 27 employees enter a drawing by completing a survey, and when asked if she's seen any Broadway shows and what she likes about them, Kenya wrote "I've attended plays since I was a child. I enjoy that it allows a space for make believe to still exist."

Thank you Broadway in Norfolk for your partnership and we hope to collaborate with you next year!

We would like to thank Main Street Shawarma for stopping by to provide excellent Middle Eastern cuisine to our employees. One of our staffers tried the lamb pita wrap and thought it was DELICIOUS!

Some of our departments are getting in the Halloween spirit at SEVTC! Recreation Therapy has done a great job with decorations in preparation for two movie nights and other exciting festivities this month.

We look forward to congratulating the winners for our door decoration and costume contests, the candy jar guessing game, as well as announcing the two lucky employees to attend the Halloween Bar Crawl in Virginia Beach on Oct. 31st (Thanks Crawl With Us for your partnership)!

Leading up to Staff Appreciation Week last month, SEVTC hosted a drawing for three lucky employees to attend Zen at the Zoo thanks to Sky's The Limit Yoga Co. The event was held this past Saturday morning at The Virginia Zoo. Here's what one staff member Kyle Newton had to say about her experience:

"It was SPECTACULAR! I had the best time...the most relaxed I had been in a while and the instructor was incredible. The weather was breezy and a TINY bit rainy, but we were under a covered pavilion overlooking the beautiful giraffes!"

Thank you, Sky's The Limit Yoga Co., for working with us so that we can provide opportunities to promote wellness and fun outside the facility for our employees!
