Today we loaded our brand new soda kiln in preparation for our first firing tomorrow!
We are so excited to have this new piece of equipment, and to share it with our students and ceramicists.

We love getting to share artwork from our classes on campus! These works come from Louise Dusinberre's "Painterly Pastels" class, which is held Tuesdays at historic Yellow Springs. Today's donuts are inspired by the work of Wayne Thiebaud, an American painter known for his colorful depictions of everyday items.

Rather than creating a specific outcome, participants will explore curiosity, intuition, experimentation, and creative risk-taking. Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises, instructor Hadley Wiktor will guide students in embracing mistakes, asking better questions, and discovering new possibilities in their work.
