Good morning and happy Monday! We had one minor crash Raymond Rd at Old Sandown Rd, a 16 year old drunk driver (not related to the crash), some harassment, some theft, some vandalism, and (unfounded) animal cruelty.

THIS COMING SATURDAY 10/24, from 10-2pm at the Transfer Station, CPD will be hosting DEA Drug Take Back. Bring your unused and unwanted prescriptions to the officer's posted next to the recycling barn, and they will package it up for destruction. The link below can answer many questions for you AND tell you what should just be flushed.

Happy Wednesday to everyone except the guy who rummaged through all those cars Monday night. Last week we had, not only a car crash into a bus picking up kids on Haverhill Rd, but also summonsed someone who passed a school bus on Derry Rd while the lights were on and the stop sign was out. A witness brought proof in to the station and we issued the summons to the driver after they admitted to passing the bus. This is currently a violation level offense, but in 2027, this will become a class B misdemeanor with a loss of license and we're here for it.

Take care out there and the full log is linked below.

Good morning. No log quite yet as we've been busy taking theft reports from 3 families so far, involving 5 or 6 cars. Folks have lost wallets, keys, and backpacks with laptops. The cars were located at houses in the Raymond/Fremont bordering streets: we're talking Hanson to Fremont Rd. CHECK YOUR VEHICLES and call us if you have experienced a loss or property damage, OR you have potential footage. πŸ™ 603-887-2080 or [email protected]

DETOUR ON FREMONT RD
Chester Highway is setting up equipment to remove some trees on the corner of Fremont Rd and Shepard Home Rd. Traffic will be diverted up Shepard Home and down Pheasant Run for about 3 hours.

10/8 EDIT: BACK OPEN!!
DETOUR ON LANE ROAD FOR A FEW HOURS!
Chester Highway Department has a large crane parked across Lane Rd near Cashmere Gardens ( #119) for tree removal. The detour takes folks around Knowles Mill Rd, so you CAN still get through. Customers of Cashmere Gardens can access the property from the Raymond Rd side. They will let me know when it's back to normal and then they'll be closing Fremont Rd at Shepard Home Rd in the afternoon.

Good afternoon and happy Monday! Aside from the canvassers causing a stir, we had a pretty quiet week last week. Sadly, we attended a medical emergency turned untimely death, πŸ™ we assisted several seniors with phone scams, who thankfully didn't give personal information or lose money; we helped a family make peace after a disagreement got out of hand; and we had yet another DUI arrest on Fremont Rd (3rd this year). See, internet, we did positive things too! We broke our 3 week streak of being crash-free when a woman looking at foliage, drifted a little too far off the roadway and snapped a pole.. it happens.

We've gotten many calls about door-to-door political campaign solicitors today. They are handing out fliers for Sununu and Dilorenzo. Folks doing this type of work are sent by various organizations and may live in different states and, therefore, have license plates that are not from NH. Despite AI generated malarkey, the Town of Chester DOES NOT REQUIRE solicitors to check in or have credentials. Companies who solicit regularly tend to check in because they know it benefits everyone involved.

Yesterday's guy may have been trying to open the storm/screen door to knock on the actual door, as this was the case in other videos from different towns. We'd still like an answer, though.

Certainly call us if you feel uneasy or if someone is trespassing on posted property. We've had calls from Derry Rd, East Derry Rd, and Warfield Rd so far. Different people, different cars, different plate states.. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« It's a little maddening. 603-887-2080

EDIT 10/5/26: At this time, this incident is being closed as "unfounded." It was the first time someone let us know canvassers were in town and we were able to ascertain a few things: 1) it's not weird for them to be so close together timewise. They are paid by folks funding Republican party candidates and they're both going off the same list of registered voters; 2) several videos, showing different people in various towns, have tried to open storm/screen doors to hang the flyer and have found the screen door to be locked and, if it was raining, they wouldn't leave the flyer. There are several people jammed into these vehicles who take turns running up to people's doors, so the people in our photos are just 2 of those dozen. If you feel like a crime has been committed on your property and the political canvassers are the culprits, please call the PD in the town where the alleged crime occurred.

Good afternoon! This morning on Derry Rd, we had a case of 2 doork**b jigglers, 30 minutes apart, same residence. The first man was driving a black sedan and the second man had gotten out of the back seat of a silver SUV. In plain view, the white gentleman in the sunglasses appears to try the door k**b before ringing the doorbell. That's pretty much the opposite of what you do when soliciting. He left a John Sununu flyer in the door, but who knows these days. Let us know if you see either one roaming the streets and we'll be happy to have a talk. 603-887-2080
