In addition to providing free produce boxes to local community residents, the Ruth Bennett Community Farm’s distribution earlier this month also included additional support from Health Educated and the Delaware County Health Department. Health Educated offered education and information about community resources to attendees. The Delaware County Health Department was also onsite to give out free flu vaccines. Thank you to both organizations for helping keep our community healthy this upcoming season!

The Ruth Bennett Community Farm will have another FREE produce box distribution tomorrow (Thursday, October 22) from 1 to 3 p.m.

Stop by to get some local produce that includes seasonal leafy greens, fruit, root crops, summer vegetables, herbs, and eggs. The produce box distributions will continue through November. Find a full list of dates here: https://www.ruthbennettcommunityfarm.org/events

Looking to get some fresh food while also supporting your health?

At this week's distribution at Ruth Bennett Community Farm on Thursday, October 8th, there will be plenty of resources available to attendees:

🫑 A FREE box of organic produce filled with seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and eggs.
🚑 Health Educated will be joining to provide lead education and community resources.
🤧 The Delaware County Health Department will also be providing FREE flu vaccines.

Where: The Ruth Bennett Community Farm at 1318 Carla's Lane, Chester, PA 19013
When: 1 to 3 p.m.

Last weekend, CHA hosted a Movie Night at the Ruth L. Bennett Community Center!

Residents, families, and neighbors came together to watch Coraline and Paranormal while also enjoying raffles, goodie bags, popcorn, and other refreshments. Health Educated also joined us onsite to provide lead screenings for residents.

Did you know that Chester youth can go to J. Lewis Crozer Library for a free healthy meal? From Tuesday to Friday of this week, youth can drop by the library between 3 and 5 p.m. for a fresh meal while also being part of a supportive, welcoming space.

Don’t miss it: CHA is hosting a Move Night this weekend at the Ruth L. Bennett Community Center!

On Sunday, September 27th from 3 to 7 p.m., families can come by the community center to enjoy a movie along with candy, popcorn, and drinks.

Making A Change Group offers programs to support families and youth in Chester.

Their programs include:
➡️GVINE: a gun violence intervention network and empowerment for youth ages 10 to 24
➡️Connected Families: supports parents and caregivers with workshops, peer support, and leadership development
➡️Team MAC: offers structured tutoring, mentoring, and social-emotional learning for youth ages 8 to 17

City of Chester, PA Government will be hosting the Peace, Love & Unity Festival on Saturday, September 12th from 12 to 8 p.m. at Chester City Hall.

Presented by Councilman Fred Green, the event will feature live music, food truck, fun for the entire family, a health zone, and more.
