Sunny skies will come to an end this weekend as Hurricane Isaias makes landfall along the central Gulf Coast Friday night. While the system will pass several hundred miles west of our area, heavy rainfall will be possible across the Midlands and CSRA this weekend with the eastern edge of the system. Localized flooding will be the main threat, particularly in areas that receive locally higher totals.

Keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Isaias for this weekend. Confidence is increasing in the bulk of the most significant impacts will remaining to our west. Periods of heavy rain & breezy conditions are expected however, but confidence in the extent of the flooding threat and/or tornado potential is still low.

Chesterfield County Emergency Services hosted the Region 4 Emergency Managers Seminar today at the John Crawley Emergency Services Building in Chesterfield followed by lunch and our quarterly Robinson Nuclear Task Force meeting. We had a lot of special guest in the building today, but it was nice to see the South Carolina Emergency Management, Director Kim Stenson, as well as Chesterfield, County Administrator, Michelle Stanley and Human Resources Director Kim Cole in attendance.

Wednesday, October 7th, there's a 3 minute siren test for the Robinson Nuclear Plant. If it's like last year, it will be in the afternoon. Some sirens may need to be tested more than once.

In case you're unaware what to do for a siren when testing is not occurring, here's an action list:

A simple Thank You can go a long ways….Thank You to Michelle Stanley, Chesterfield County Administrator for thinking of 2400 today. Even with a massive job that you have each day you took the time to write a personal card and to personally drop off a token of your appreciation. Your encouragement is much appreciated and your kindness will be on display.

You really never know how much someone needs to be shown that……I SEE YOU ❤️
