ST. LOUIS- Yes, Mother Nature says the high temperature for Tuesday, October 13 is expected to hit 94 degrees. But if you see MoDOT snowplows on Missouri interstates and highways October 13 and October 14, it's because MoDOT is holding its annual winter operations drill.
The drill tests MoDOT’s winter battle plan to ensure its readiness to get travelers back on Missouri roadways as quickly as possible after winter storms.
During the drill, MoDOT snow vehicles will travel state highways and routes throughout the St. Louis area starting at 9 a.m. MoDOT employees will test vehicle equipment and drive assigned snow routes. The department’s emergency operations centers will activate, and emergency communications systems will also be tested.
Motorists may notice increased numbers of MoDOT vehicles on St. Louis area highways and state routes with snowplows attached during the drill.
