Eñe, The KCA, and Kent County Local Management Board are hosting an incredible opportunity for a workshop with Francisco Loza this Saturday October 3rd to learn his pressed yarn technique, create your own piece, and be inspired by this unique form.

Arte de Estambre, or Pressed Yarn Art, uses colorful yarn that is cut, shaped, and adhered to wooden surfaces with wax.

The workshop is open to all ages, but participants 10 and under should bring an adult.

The Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter.

This is an exciting opportunity for a nonprofit arts leader who is passionate about the performing arts, community engagement, fundraising, and organizational growth. The Executive Director will work with the Board, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to strengthen the Garfield Center and expand its impact throughout the region.

The anticipated start date is December 1, 2026, and the position is open until filled.

Last night we opened the exhibit Beyond Baltimore Street: Living Lumbee Legacies and held a panel discussion featuring some of the Elders featured in the exhibit.
