Has Dakar turned over a new leaf... or is he just plotting his next move?

Our handsome white tiger, Dakar, is usually quite the mischievous prankster! But today, he's taking a surprisingly gentle approach to his pumpkin enrichment. A little sniff here, a curious inspection there... almost as if he's trying to decide whether this strange orange thing is a toy, a treat, or trouble waiting to happen!

But don't let those innocent looks fool you! We have a feeling that sweet, gentle curiosity won't last long!

What do YOU think? Will Dakar continue being Mr. Gentle Giant, or is that poor pumpkin about to get a BIG surprise?

GOOD AFTERNOON from Dakar!

“It's MY pumpkin, and I'm keeping it!”

Handsome white tiger Dakar has claimed his pumpkin, and judging by that look, he has absolutely no intention of sharing!

Sometimes the best afternoons are the simple ones—a little sunshine, a favorite toy, and a peaceful place to relax.

Here at National Tiger Sanctuary, enrichment items like pumpkins provide our big cats with opportunities to explore, play, and enjoy something different in their day. And sometimes, as Dakar demonstrates, they're just perfect for cuddling!

If you could ask Dakar one question right now, what would it be?

AMAL vs. THE PUMPKIN!

Amal Tigress isn't quite sure what to think about her pumpkin! First comes the cautious investigation... a little sniffing, a little pawing, and finally, she decides to sink her teeth into it!

BIG MISTAKE!

One bite and Amal makes the funniest “STINKY FACE!”

“WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I JUST PUT IN MY MOUTH?!”

Pumpkins make wonderful enrichment for our big cats, giving them new scents, textures, and objects to investigate. And sometimes, they give us a good laugh, too!

GOOD MORNING from Afton!

“Is it morning already? I haven't even finished my first catnap!”

With sleepy eyes, a magnificent bedhead mane, and absolutely no hurry to get moving, Afton is reminding us that some mornings are meant to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace!

Who else needs a little extra time to wake up in the morning?

TY vs. THE PUMPKIN — LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Ty the ti-liger has a new toy, and this pumpkin is about to find out who's boss!

Who knew a simple pumpkin could provide so much entertainment?
Enrichment like this helps keep our big cats curious, active, and engaged!

WATCH THE FUN!
When he comes back,
do you think Ty will play nice with his pumpkin,
or will it end up in pieces?

GOOD NIGHT from Mavuto, Our Sleepy King!
Going... going... GONE!

Mavuto tried his best to keep those sleepy eyes open, but even the king of the jungle can't fight off a good catnap forever!

Snuggled into the soft grass with his magnificent mane as a pillow, this handsome fellow has decided it's time to dream the night away.

Sweet dreams from Mavuto and all of us at National Tiger Sanctuary!

Will you wish our sleepy lion a GOOD NIGHT in the comments?
