Part-time Journeyman Lineman

The City of Chetopa seeks a part-time, experienced Journeyman Lineman to assist with maintenance, repairs, and emergency response for the electrical distribution system.

Key duties:
- Inspect, maintain, and repair overhead and underground lines and equipment
- Troubleshoot outages and make timely repairs
- Assist with pole setting, transformer changes, and line upgrades
- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
- Follow safety protocols and maintain required tools/equipment

Qualifications:
- Journeyman Lineman with valid credentials and proven field experience
- Strong knowledge of distribution systems
- Ability to work nights/on-call and perform physical outdoor labor
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred

Hours & pay:
- Part-time, flexible schedule;
- Hourly pay negotiable

Bids may be submitted in person at:

Chetopa, KS 67336
Bids will be accepted during regular business hours.
Both vehicles are being sold by the City of Chetopa through a sealed bidding process. Vehicles are sold as-is, where-is, with no warranties expressed or implied.

The public is hereby notified that a quorum of the City of Chetopa Governing Body may be present at the following meeting:
Labette County Commissioners' Meeting
Monday, September 14, 2026
9:00 a.m.
Labette County Courthouse

Oswego, Kansas
A quorum of the City of Chetopa Governing Body may be present for the purpose of attending the Labette County Commissioners' meeting.
No City of Chetopa business will be discussed, deliberated, or acted upon by the City Governing Body, and no City action will be taken at this gathering.
OAK HILL CEMETERY BOARD
The Oak Hill Cemetery Board will also meet at the above date, time, and location for the purpose of participating in the public hearing regarding exceeding the Revenue Neutral Rate (RNR).
This notice is provided for informational purposes and to ensure transparency regarding the possible presence of a quorum of the City of Chetopa Governing Body.
