George Herrera and the Riot fest has gone above and beyond to make things right for our community including a community area for our businesses to gain access to 40k ppl a day. This gave our mom and pop businesses a leg in game to get minimum of 25k in 3days. I’m very disappointed that park district only gives 10% of its 700k back to our disinvested community. Yet they put the riot fest through the ringer but allow the racist LaLa Palooza and other major fest do as they please and no questions ask. But they ask the black and brown communities to do dog and pony shows to prove to their Egos the fest should stay smh. For folks always to say we need access to money well why is it when we get it you still want to take the opportunity away from our local businesses smh

When did North Lawndale and Little Village Become One Lawndale I’m asking for the institution’s that just want the black experience in little village to be silenced 🔇 let’s talk about that before you try and force our communities together

Visit several locations to sign my petitions… Don’t be fooled by old tactics in new clothing. Our community has suffered enough we need transparency and real access to capital not crumbs off the pie. We need more and better access to homeownership and local business start up incubators and better educational structures. It’s time to stop being fed and go fishing. We have to bring the best and the brightest to the table from the 24th Ward to form a committee that has the power to create the plans for our community as well. Tired of the same ole same ole… The time to pass the torch is now!
