We need to put an end to this lie that young people don't want to work.

The demand for Chicago Youth Works jobs is greater than our budget to hire.

My administration will stop at nothing to protect Black Chicagoans at risk of losing their homes, keeping long-time residents rooted in the communities they helped build.

We won $500,000 from bus companies who profited off the pain of the migrant mission and are passing that off as property tax relief to communities that have faced disinvestment, showing that city government can do more than just react during a crisis. We are using every tool available to us to hold bad actors accountable, recover resources, and invest those dollars into our communities.

Our Fair Share Budget is not balanced on the backs of working people through service cuts, layoffs, or property tax increases. It is balanced through sensible cost savings, efficiencies, and progressive revenue so we can continue our historic progress driving down violent crime, making our communities more affordable, and investing in mental health and our youth.
