IVI endorses Leni For 48th Ward alderperson! Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth impressed us with her decades of work and activism building and leading coalitions, which will serve her well on the city council. Her work and knowledge of issues makes her our choice.
IVI endorses Citizens and Richard Wooten for 6th Ward alderperson! Wooten’s decades-long commitment to serving his community in the armed forces, as a police officer, and now as a pastor shows his skill at caring for people and working to bring them together. He knows the issues and has good plans to help his ward.
IVI endorses Lori Torres Whitt for 36th Ward alderperson! Lori showed that she understands the issues faced by the ward, including the damage done by the remap that intentionally distorted the ward boundaries. 36 deserves an alder who can build consensus in these new areas, and Lori is the one who can best do that.
IVI endorses Ruth Cruz for 30th Ward Alderwoman!
IVI endorses Ronnie Mosley for 21st Ward Alderman! The Board was already impressed by Mosley’s knowledge of the issues and clear vision for how to help his ward. His success so far shows great promise for his ability to lead the ward!

Who We Are and What We Do
IVI-IPO's mission is to achieve social justice through good government by increasing voter participation and knowledge, by providing a framework for candidate evaluation, and by electing responsive government officials.
The IVI–IPO has been in existence since 1944. It has been dedicated to good government activism and an idealistic vision of open, honest government in Illinois through pragmatic means that confront cynicism and corruption with equal force. The organization's primary tools are voter's registration, voter information and candidate endorsement. We also lobby on behalf of governmental reforms designed to open the system and better inform the public on the political process.
The IVI–IPO is a not-for-profit, multi-partisan, independent political organization. Our endorsements reach hundreds of thousands of voters throughout the greater Chicagoland area. Our work on campaign finance and ethics reform in the past and in the present has gotten high marks from all quarters and our commitment to good government is as strong now as it has ever been.
