George Hernandez is a legendary Chicago boxing coach and trainer who has spent nearly four decades running the boxing program at the Garfield Park Fieldhouse on the city's West Side. A Vietnam War veteran, Hernandez has been active in boxing as both an amateur fighter and trainer since the 1960s. Over his extensive career, he has trained thousands of amateur and professional fighters and has been credited with developing or working with at least 30 world champions. Congratulations on your retirement, you will be missed.

A blood drive is being held by the 011th District Chicago Police Department. Lives are saved by our blood. Donations can still be made until 4pm at the 11th District Community Room- 3151 W. Harrison.
