The best way to understand how affordable housing is built? Go see it being built.

The 2026 Next Gen cohort visited East Garfield Park Homes and Casa Yucatan in Chicago last week. Getting a firsthand look at two affordable housing developments taking shape.

Through our partnership with LISC Chicago, Next Gen gives emerging developers training, technical assistance and real-world experience with the affordable housing development process including the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.
