On Tuesday February 24th, we were happy and grateful to host our quarterly Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly meeting where we were joined by our Illinois Department on Aging Director Mary Killough, her team, and many wonderful providers and agencies that work with IDOA!
In the meeting, many topics were discussed dealing with new Policy and program updates.
Weβd like to thank everybody who attended and participated! We hope it was an enjoyable and fruitful meeting.

With the recent Government shutdown putting a pause on the funding for the SNAP program with no foreseeable end, we would like to help in cases that are truly in need of assistance.
If you or somebody you know is affected heavily by the pause on funding, and has a family that relies on these programs, please have them call our office at 773-275-2688

It was an honor to participate in the 36th annual CLEASE Anniversary Dinner. The Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly is made of many providers, including Urhai, who focus on care for our elderly, especially minorities. We were honored to have IDOA Director Mary A. Killough with us along with many City Reps, State Reps, and with Illinois policy makers!
Congrats to CLEASE again! Many more anniversaries to come, hopefully!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at the Assyrian Food Fest! It was wonderful to see so many of you and share what Urhai is all about.
We had a great time giving away some Urhai Swag and it was fantastic to hear how many of you are interested in our programs. Your support means the world to us!
We're already looking forward to next year's festival. We hope to see you all again soon!

Today, August 7th, we solemnly observe Assyrian Martyrs Day - a day of remembrance for the countless Assyrians & Christians in the middle east who have lost their lives to genocide, persecution, and mass violence throughout history.
From the massacre of Simele in 1933 to more recent atrocities, we remember and honor those who were taken too soon.
