The Humboldt Park Resident Action Committee has been around for a few months now, but we are just making our way to Facebook!
Our organization came out of the housing struggle being waged in Humboldt Park, which seeks to house long-time community members who have been cast out of housing and forced to live on the street, as well as to combat the malpractices of the Chicago Housing Authority that leave their tenants in poor living conditions.
Our work so far has included eviction defense mobilizations, political education sessions in coordination with NEYL and mutual aid work with our unhoused community members.
As we move forward into 2023, we hope to become even more deeply involved in tenant organizing and political education in addition to kick starting work in organized labor in the neighborhood, and whatever other needs our community needs!
