The Senator Robert F. Martwick Youth Fellowship civic engagement program, concluded its second year on Monday.
This year, our Fellows help draft and present AI legislation, attended the YMCA Youth and Government program in Springfield, where all of their bills passed and met with state and local leaders. The level of maturity, commitment and leadership has been outstanding and we are beyond proud of their hard work!
On Monday, Mayor Brandon Johnson welcomed us to his office for their last say and to present them with their certificates of completion. It is not at all lost on our team, that in the seriousness of this moment in our democracy, just how important that moment became.
Thank you to Mayor Johnson’s team for such a special way to conclude our year.
