My Dad was extremely proud to be Irish and absolutely loved St. Patrick's Day! ☘️

Our family is forever grateful he spent his last week of life while having the time of his life traveling across Ireland.☘️🍺☘️

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ☘️

My Dad was a proud graduate of the first class ever, the Class of 1960, at Brother Rice High School in Chicago.

Yesterday, it was great to walk the halls and tour the campus with his grandson and my nephew, Brett, at their open house.

Brett is hoping to be a part of the Class of 2028 at Brother Rice High School. Go Brett!👍

Happy Father's Day to all Fathers, especially mine, Sergeant Vince Gavin.👮‍♂️

In 2004, I ran 🏃‍♂️ in the 1st Annual Chicago Poloce Run to Remember.

Yesterday, it was an honor yesterday to be a part of The 19th Annual Chicago Police Run to Remember 🏃‍♂️, honoring the lives and sacrifice of the 600 Chicago Police Officers who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty.

It was also the first time I saw my Dad's paver at Gold Star Memorial and Park, his favorite place in the entire City of Chicago.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!👍

St. Patrick’s Day ☘️ was always one of my Dad’s favorite days each year.

It was, in part, because St. Patrick’s Day signified the night of his first date with my Mom, Eileen.

It was 60 years ago today, March 17, 1963, when my Dad took my Mom to a dance 🕺 💃, hosted by the men’s group of which he was a member, The Jesters.

The St. Patrick’s Day Dance was held at The Brainerd Club, located at the corner of 87th & Ashland in Chicago.

While my Dad would drive my Mom to school each day for her classes at Chicago Teachers College, it wasn’t until this night they had their first date.

They had a great time, dated on and off over the next 4+ years, eventually got married on September 30, 1967, and were married for 49+ years.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all! ☘️ ☘️☘️

It was 49 years ago today, March 14, 1974, my Dad, as Mayor Daley’s lead bodyguard, welcomed President Nixon to Chicago as he departed Air Force One at O’Hare Airport.

At The Conrad Hilton Hotel, President Nixon delivered a speech to The Executive Club of Chicago.
