Our Mission: Renaissance Social Services is changing the lives of individuals and families in Chicago, giving them hope and vision for a new life. Transparency means sharing the full picture.

Renaissance Social Services has posted its FY2024 independent audit and summary on the website. The audit includes an unmodified clean opinion on the financial statements, no material noncompliance reported, and a corrective action plan to strengthen financial management, internal controls, and compliance systems.

For donors, partners, and supporters, this is part of responsible stewardship: showing the work, naming what is being strengthened, and continuing to build the systems behind the mission.

Maura’s connection to this work spans more than two decades, from leading housing programs at Heartland Human Care Services to helping shape Chicago’s homelessness response at DFSS. As Acting Commissioner, she helped lead services reaching hundreds of thousands of Chicagoans across homelessness, youth services, workforce development, senior services, and more. Cynthia’s career has kept her close to questions of justice and public service. From practicing civil rights law with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office to her current work in state government, she has seen how housing instability can create barriers far beyond housing itself, including education, employment, and healthcare.
