Today we join the American people in honoring the heroes who gave everything to defend liberty and democracy. Their selflessness is a beacon of courage for us all. On this Memorial Day, and every day, we remember and salute their sacrifice. May their memory be a blessing. 🇺🇸

Today, we remember Sarah Lynn Milgrim z”l and Yaron Lischinsky z”l, who were murdered one year ago outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.

Sarah and Yaron dedicated their lives to Israel, the Jewish people, and building bridges between communities. One year later, we honor their memory and the light they brought into the world.

May their memories be a blessing. 🕯️

As Shavuot begins, we celebrate the giving of the Torah, the harvest season, and the traditions that bring people together. Chag Shavuot Sameach! 🌾✨

Tiny turtles, big journey. 🐢🇮🇱

Sea turtle nesting season is underway along Israel’s Mediterranean coast. From May through August, female sea turtles come ashore to nest, laying dozens of eggs in the sand before returning to the sea.

To help protect the eggs, rangers and trained volunteers scan the beaches in the early morning, locate new nests, and move many of them to protected incubation areas.

Last year, 558 sea turtle nests were found on Israel’s beaches, a hopeful sign for the season ahead.

This Jewish American Heritage Month, we’re highlighting Max Adler, a businessman and philanthropist from Elgin. In 1930, he helped bring the stars closer to Chicago by founding The Adler Planetarium. His vision became one of the city’s most beloved places for generations of visitors to explore science, astronomy, and the wonder of the universe. 🪐✨
